
On January 18, 2019, the Annual Working Conference of China’s APEC Energy Partnership Network was held in Beijing. Attendees included An Fengquan (Deputy Director-General, NEA International Cooperation Department), Zhu Xuantong (Deputy Researcher, NEA General Office), Gao Shixian (Deputy Director, NDRC Energy Research Institute), Gu Hongbin (Vice President, China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute) and Du Guomin (Director, CNPC Planning Institute Strategy Department). Mystuff attended as a network member.

Presided over by Professor Zhu Li (Director, Tianjin University APEC Sustainable Energy Center), the meeting reviewed 2018 achievements and 2019 plans, reported project progress, highlighted key application priorities, and discussed strategies to strengthen China’s role in APEC energy cooperation.
In closing remarks, An Fengquan noted solid progress in 2018, marking a breakthrough in APEC energy cooperation. He emphasized three priorities: advancing APEC cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative; strengthening research and innovation; enhancing coordination to build new partnerships and increase China’s influence in Asia-Pacific energy governance.
